Shambhala Training is a series of weekend retreats and classes.  Each weekend examines different aspects of  human experience and presents the view that human beings, at the core, are fundamentally awake and good.

Through learning and becoming familiar with ones own mind and developing a personal meditation practice one develops tools for being present and meeting with others and discussing.  It all begins with giving ourselves the opportunity to reconnect with our true human existence—the experience of our five senses, the feeling of emotions in our body, and yes, even the awareness of thoughts across our minds.

The classes are all taught by people who have been meditating and trained in this tradition.

The Art of Being Human – Level One

Birth of a Warrior – 2

Warrior in the World – 3

Awakened Heart – 4

Open Sky – 5

The Atlantic region is presenting this whole series of levels online.  They are ideally taken in order as they build on each other.  Repeating a level is half price and is encouraged in the same way that repeated or daily meditation only deepens ones understanding of oneself.

* all events in Shambhala are supported by Shambhala’s Code of Conduct.  We ask that all participants take some time to read it – as you are expected to abide by it.  Thank you.

Shambhala Training Levels include:

• Guided meditation practice
• Shamatha/Vipassana meditation talks and instruction by an experienced teacher
• Group discussions
• Optional one-on-one meditation instruction
• Movement exercises to support meditation practice

Sacred Path – is a series of weekends that follow on Shambhala Training, deepening ones connection to the world of phenomena and oneself.

Retreats and study – that study particular texts – In Shambhala terminology a ‘householder’ is one who brings meditation into ones daily life in all aspects.  In the same way that monastics set up everything around them to support their practice of ‘dharma’ or awakeanment, a householder uses everything they encounter in daily life as opportunities to wake up to their world and relate to it with dignity and friendliness or kindness.
